Well Ive not kept up with my blog, yet again :) Slap my wrists
If you read my previous blogs you will recall I visited my GP and requested a re referral to the M.E specialist team at my local hospital. I contacted them a couple of weeks ago to say I was still waiting for an appointment - for some reason the GP had made no note of my request and had not followed it up. The Gp has since left the surgery so I saw a different one, a Dr Lee - who actually listened! I had all my bloods checked just to make sure there was no other cause for my symptoms and they came back normal. The Dr dictated a letter to the specialist in front of me. He also prescribed anti depressants after a long discussion. The symptoms of depression are secondary to the M.E and largely as a result of my sheer frustration at not being able to function physically or mentally to my usual level over recent months. I was hesitant regarding this treatment, but he felt that they may help me to function better and that I can always stop taking them if they don't help. So I'm giving it a trial to see.Taking supplements has not helped at all.
So my life has been a bit drab over recent months, managing to go out less and less. Ive started going back to the camera club as I enjoy socialising there and miss a few of the friends Ive made. I'm going to try to make every meeting regardless of how I feel as currently its just about the only time I get out.
I'm putting the photography pretty much on hold for now, with only occasional short spells until I feel more able physically. But I'm replacing the effort with watching workshops on Creative Live for free, so at least I'm learning. I'm also trying to build on my photoshop skills - on the days where my brain is actually functioning :) Although even this tires me out easily.
